They require a great deal of grooming and care. They need to have their eyes cleaned daily, combed often, and have a bath at least once a month. While Persians are very beautiful, they don't stay that way without proper grooming. If they are not bathed or combed regularly, they will mat and this will make the kitty very uncomfortable and is very painful for them.
Persians can also be taken to a groomer and be shaved in a "Lion Cut" to make grooming easier.
Persians are prone to eye infections as well as upper respiratory infections, if not cared for properly.
Persians have a laid back personality and therefore are NEVER to be let outside at any time, for any reason. They are not like a domestic cat that will defend itself.
If you are not willing to commit to the high demand that a Persian brings, then a Persian may not be the right Kitty for you. I take great care into these beautiful kitties, and want to be sure they are in homes where they will be loved and cared for. I'm more than happy to answer any questions you may have, and to give you every resource needed to take care of these beautiful kitties.
To those who have never owned a Persian Cat and would like to inquire about a kitten/cat.
